One thing seems very odd to me is I asked leaf fans awhile ago why trying to move kerfoot so bad. Overwhelming response was to save money and have spezza as 3c. That did seem like a sensible reasoning.

Kerfoot is a good player but he is not the type of player the leafs need as their 3C. Kadri was a better fit and we are missing him. Also the leafs don't really know if he is a top 6 winger or a button 6C. Johansson works hard and is a good finisher. He is frustrating because he disapears for stretches but when playing well in my mind is a top 6/9 winger. Dermott is so frustrating to watch. For every good play he makes he makes a bad one. He is really aggressive which leads to breaking up the play quickly or being caught way out of position
Since then to now I’ve noticed the direction and players targeting have changed a bit but the same couple guys are constantly the odd men out. Can a leafs fan please sell me on Johnsson, kerfoot, Dermott?
