I think you’d be able to get a decent prospect along with the pick. That’s a mid first rounder not a top 10. I think we should trade ekholm I just think we can do better then a mid first and a 3rd

Yeah, I might've been a little greedy trying to keep 2 1st's and get Rakell. I'd take the counter of a 1st + Allard for Rakell + 3rd. Keeping Jarnkrok would eliminate Smith resigning, and leaves more cap space.

I agree we could probably get more for Ekholm, but it went with the idea of flipping the pick to get Rakell. Shows that it's possible to improve the top 6 and keep our 1st round pick, without sacrificing too much on the back end. Edmundson isn't Ekholm, but I think he's as close to an equal replacement as the FA market has within cap range.
