Ah yes, a team in a cap crunch taking on a cap dump for free. And on top of that if you're going to say, "they need all the help they can get on D":

(a) Staal isn't "help" on D. He's hurt.
(b) They could sign someone much better in FA
(c) We have an abundance of NHL quality LHD. Its RHD that we need

Neal with 2.8M retained is a 2.875M player who can score 20 goals and decent on the PP. That's not even that bad of a contract anymore

We have no need for Lundqvist, his cap hit, or Brendan Lemieux.
