No thanks from Minnesota. Georgiev doesn't hold that kind of value.

You mean greenway doesn't hold that kind of value, not that we have a need for him anyway

No I mean exactly what I said. If you have no need for Greenway, all the more reason to not take offense to me saying no.

Both players are worth about a 2nd round pick right now. The value isn't bad, I just don't know if MN is interested in Georgiev. I think they would rather trade Donato than Greenway.

For MTL, there should be a bigger prospect involved in a trade for Danault. Lundqvist or Miller at the very least.

He's got 77 career games of very average goaltending in a backup role. Especially with the market for goaltenders right now, I don't see how Georgiev is worth a 2nd.

What makes you think Georgiev is worth a 2nd round pick? An established goaltender in Jake Allen fetched a 3rd and 7th round pick. Sure, it was a desperation move to clear cap, but that means his value wasnt much higher than that.

Not with a 1st Round Pick involved. Rangers probably need to overpay a bit for Danault, and both these Prospects have become highly regarded in a deep system. Especially Pajuniemi.

I wouldn’t do the nurse deal. Oilers need a top six lw anything short of that would be a non starter for me personally.

Allen is a rental, a headcase, and expensive.

Georgiev has a few years of team control, a decent amount of NHL games played, average stats, and shouldn't cost a lot on his next contract. Or to put it another way I could draft a goalie with a 2nd round pick and be happy if that pick turned into Georgiev.

What?... for Danault? basically a 50 point center who can win some faceoffs.

the 13th pick alone might be enough, especially with KK and Suzuki playing up the lineup.

Montreal accepts.

Can't blame the Habs for trying to extract as much value as possible out of Danault....but let them get that value from another org...for now the Rangers would be much better off signing Strome to a 1 yr deal before arb- to temporarily fill 2C...until Chytl at 3C is ready to take 2C reigns...all the while keeping the assets mentioned in this trade. Best trade partner for MTL is a team in "win now" mode...Rangers not there yet...and any mention of Lundqvist or Miller is certainly not happening.

I agree here, I don't see a fit between NYR and MTL for that type of trade. However, I don't think I'm crazy on Danault's value. Look at what Kapanen brought to the Leafs. 15 OA + Hallander. Considering Danault is a C, and he is getting in discussion for Selke, perhaps he'll be Selke finalist in a year or two, I think he is worth at the very minimum as much as Kapanen. Obviously, there should an agreement for a long term deal implied, but still. Danault's value is more than just a 1st.

People need to stop quoting the Kapanen trade, it was an overpayment by a GM that realized his team wasn't deep enough to get past a 12th seed.

Everything else I agree with, but he's worth a 1st at around the 15th pick mark.
to imply he's worth a 15th overall, a top prospect and another depth pick is like saying Danault is worth a top 5 pick... which he is not.

And I like Danault and the Habs.
