There should be a ‘win for neither’ option in the poll because that’s what’s happening
The Wings at this point should not in any dimension be trading their futures for old guys and potential bottom six guys.
On paper this is fine for the Yotes but they should not be retaining at all when they are already in cap hell

You don't sign a player OEL to a to an 8 year deal worth $66M and trade him in his 2nd season.

As a Wings fan I have to agree with HabsFan9. Detroit can't afford to give up multiple assets for one player we just don't have enough pieces in place.

Detroit isn't in a position to consider a trade that involves multiple picks for a player. They need as many as possible because they are about to raid their entire cupboard over the next couple of seasons.

had to go with the wings winning this trade but neither teams wins in this trade because to the money retained . despite the wings being in rebuild mode .. u have to put the best team u can out there and oel has a lot of good yrs left but still way to much to give up in picks .. too much rambling... both lose.. ari loses to much money retained .. detroit loses too many picks going out ..
