i dont see the canes giving up petr not because he is the perfect goalie but because he is their starter right now and may sign him semi long term because reimer wont be in the league much longer. i think you could go to other teams tho such as the coyotes and get raanta who would cost more but would be more realistic. personally i think the canes plan rn is to draft yaroslav askarov at 13 if he is available and also sign a bigger name guy in free agency like lehner to a long deal. i think your idea is in the right place for the hawks just the wrong team.

Crawford will start, I think the Blackhawks need to go after a reliable backup goalie who can play 30 games and the first person to come to mind in Mrazek.
Bowman also ruined any possibility with Lehner.

I don't care what else the Canes do, I just want them to sign lehner to a 5-6 year deal while they wait for Askarov. You'll have to move one of your goalies to do it, but it'll be worth it for sure.
