as a canes fan i like the trade and i think it has a good base but i think for it to go through the canes would need to have long term contract in place with the deal and the upgrade to that will be the canes bumping the pick up to a second rounder. pretty solid base tho

Except Raanta doesn’t have that kind of value. Raanta with his injury history isn’t worth Foegele 1 for 1 with an extension. Raanta is good but his injury history makes him worth a low value asset. Mid round pick, boom or bust prospect thats down in the rankings, or something else like that. McGinn maybe if not extended first.
