Don't hate that Isles trade. If Ladd can be put on LTIR it would work out well for us

If McCann really asks for 4-million the Penguins definitely accept this trade. They'd need to shed the cap and maybe sign a 3C like Erik Haula (for example) in FA with the couple extra dollars.

While the Canadiens would love to have Brodin on principle, he is going to be a UFA in a year and we have enough of those already. It's a no from Montreal, but I think there is potential for a Brodin deal to be worked out.

You somehow managed to make the defense much worse with maybe a marginal improvement to the offense at best

McCann, Johnson for 2nd

I expect McCann to get a 2nd, so if the Penguins can get Johnson tagged onto that it would be amazing for them.

However, I also do not think that Rutherford has ANY intention on trading Johnson, leaving you with McCann for 2nd.

Wild should not be taking JJ back in the penguins deal.

Just to clarify:

Domi for Brodin; MTL rejects.
Domi for Dumba; MIN rejects.

This is starting point, allegedly discussed between GMs. Feel free to propose something respecting those guidelines.

Pass on the Boychuk-Parise swap

HARD pass on the PIT deal. McCann might get a 2nd, but not with Johnson tagged on

Idk if Montreal would be excited about adding a 2nd to the Brodin deal

I don't think Habs do that without an extension on Brodin, and I think it's 1 for 1 no pick involved.
What would a Domi for Dumba trade look like?

Except for the fact that Brodin and Dumba are both better players than Domi...

Except the fact that it's hard to compare a defenceman and a foward.

Except the fact the value =/= talent.

Except the fact that the age, the development curve, the term, the status (UFA or RFA) and teams needs also matter.

There is a huge difference between being talented (which Domi is) and being a great hockey player (which Domi is definitely not!).
