Description
I am sure PHI fans wont like the idea but he has lost a ton of value because of the constant injures and lack of great play when healthy (good play not great you'd expect from #2). team has proven they don't really need him by being top 4 in east without him. Tho if he can get healthy can still turn into good player but 2nd liner looks like the roof now.

I don't love trading away a 2nd OA pick, theres just insane risk. that being said, I could see a trade like this really benefiting PHI. i feel like this has potential to blow up in either teams face. Nolan may never play, or he could come back like a 2nd overall, its too hard to tell. That being said, a RHD on a manageable contract could be exactly what Flech is looking for.

it can be really good too, this could really improve the teams center depth and let that 3rd line grow together.
at worst he doesn't pan out and we traded down for a later 1st and 2nd round pick.
40 points should be no issue for montour in 80+ games

But the risk is now we miss on an elite talent at 8oa and lose montour for nothing?
There still needs to be a significant piece coming back to buf if were giving up the 2 best pieces in the trade

Skip the flip of 1st rounders & I would take that if I was Buffalo. Nolan might come back & be solid. if not, it was worth the chance.

I could argue that nolan could be more valuable to buffalo next year than montour because of abundance of RHD.
the biggest equalizer in this trade is an extra 2nd rounder. if nolan plays 30 games in ahl and nhl buff would still get the pick.
