Toronto would need to add to that, Kuemper is cheaper, has an extra year, and is much better

What's Arizona's incentive? Kuemper was just re-signed to a two-year deal, is cheaper, and had a better year in 2019-2020.

I think TO fans are forgetting something about Kuemper... he actually has defense in Arizona.
To expect him to be a vezina candidate with this mashpiece back end is a bit of a stretch.
Especially with rolling Reilly to his off-side.

what defense ??? I watched every yotes game this past season and 75% of the time it was either Darcy Kuemper or Raanta bailing us out and my dude gotta watch the entire Coyotes/Predators series and the first 3 games of the Colorado series and you will that Kuemper was carrying us on his back

I think his reasoning is that Andersen gets $4mill of his $5mill on July 1st so he has a 5mill cap hit but only costs the yotes $1mill in actual salary. I'm not saying they would make this trade but another factor is Arizona has a much better D playing in front of him than he'd have in Toronto plus the media/fan pressure might influence how good he could be in Tdot. I'd do Andersen for Hjalmarsson though.

Arizona's incentive is money. They are rumored to be cutting roster costs this offseason after their owners took big hits in the casino business. While Kuemper is cheaper cap wise, Anderson is a lot cheaper money wise.

are you saying Toronto's defense > Arizona's defense?

Kuemper was great, this was a career year, but I don't see him as a long term solution, he's basically this years Brian Elliott, he got hot, he'll be good for 2-3 seasons and be back to a backup.

He's been good for the past 3 seasons now this wasn't just a one year thing

and Brian Elliott was stellar for 5 seasons in 35-40 games of usage for the Blues, what's your point?

Kuemper is fine, but the guy is hardly on any teams radar as a solution with 3 years of good work behind a solid d-core (as much as you like to isht on them) and any team that places a higher value on him doesn't seem to realize this is his high, and at his age, it will start to go downhill in 2-3 seasons.

"kuemper is hardly on any teams radar as a solution" Not according to Elliott Friedman Coyotes are already taking calls on Kuemper even without a GM , you are underrating Kuemper big time as he didn't just have 3 good seasons , two of those seasons were Vezina Caliber seasons and you cant use Brian Elliott as a comparison because every goalie is different and Kuemper would have gotten back to back 50 games played plus if it wasn't for Covid and with vezina type numbers while Elliott the Only times he played 50 games+ in a season his save percentage was .893 and .909

and Kuemper had one season at 55, the guy's prior average was about 20-25 games. so I'm not throwing the cart before the horse claiming he's some top notch goalie after one legitimate season.

Kuemper had a 2.22 and .928, while Raanta had a 2.63 and .921.... so either you have two stellar top notch goalies, or your defense is really good.

do it a little more consistently and maybe, no need to jump all over his D***, but you do you.
