Another clueless fan who acts like DeAngelo is bad at defense. Look at his advanced statistics maybe that should enlighten you a touch. DeAngelo is a 50 point RHD at 24. Henrique is a 50 point C on a good year at 30 with a $5.8M cap through age 35.

you guys are so cringe. what stats are you looking at? he has most of his starts in the offensive zone and has higher on ice goals against than even Smith does even with practically the same oiSV. He's not good. This isn't a secret. If he were a winger, I'd be impressed.

Yes ik i meant Georgiev ill rewrite the trade.... Buchnevich, Georgiev and 22 for 13 and a 2nd rounder, might even add a 3rd rounder

I'd consider if you took out the 22nd pick lol.

Fair enough not really sure the value of Buchnevich. Was thinking a 9 spot jump in the draft is probably worth a 2nd and a 4th, plus the other 2nd and 3rd in the trade. Dont think the canes would part with 13 unless they got a huge upgrade in the top 6 which i dont see Buchnevich as. Id imagine the ranger want more usable assets vs picks anyways. I think Georgiev could be interesting on the canes tho

Last year ADA had a +2.48% relative Corsi (to the rest of the team), a 3.2 Defensive Point Share, +2.6% relative Fenwick and 43 xGA last year. Even taking into account 56.3% of his shifts starting in the offensive zone, he isn't that bad of a defender and had around an average defensive season. Combine that with his superb offense and he is an extremely valuable player at only 24 years of age. Compared to Henrique, who is coming off possibly the best season of his career at age 29, Deangelo is the far superior player, is younger and is going to cost about as much as Henrique will despite not being as likely to decline.

Buchnevich is a top 6 RW, analytics are excellent and he's still improving yearly.

Yeah his numbers have improved yearly but the canes need a lw and likely one that is a bit more proven.

agreed if the canes are going big id rather spend big on Laine. If the canes are going to make an addition i would like to try and avoid making a big dent in the d core
