If Bjugstad is healthy he can be a really good 3rd line center its just he hasn't been healthy in like a calendar year

Pretty sure the Jets will just ride out the last year of Perreault's deal, hopefully they learned from the last cap dump trade they made, it wasn't worth it.

when the trade deadline comes around and the cap impacts aren't as important, teams would be very interested in a guy like Bozak. I think if the Blues find a trade outside of his 10-team no trade list, they'll be able to pull a late pick, say 4th or 5th, and that team will be able to flip him for more midseason. Good defensively and on the dot, can play on the wing or at the pivot, cup experience, blah blah blah. I don't think the Blues should be willing to pay to move him, but if it came to that I'd say nothing more than a late pick as the sweetener, meaning a team would have zero risk in taking him on (even though I still consider him valuable).

While I don’t disagree they’re also 3rd line C making 4M and 5M in a flat cap season.

They’d be the guys that would get Jones in return but they’d have to add a pick just make up the cap difference.

I also think PIT is okay cap wise but should they want to add something else just curious if they’d pay to get rid of him.

He and Bonino were the guys that I’d think Jones would be the return and the pick would be more like a 3rd. But I could also be dreaming with that type of idea. Although not sure if Jones would fit STL as without looking I think they have plenty of LWs.

no

if he's hurt, he sits on LTIR and doesn't hurt the cap
if he's healthy someone will want him for free

I'd be fine if they paid like a 4th or later if it meant bringing someone else in, but I don't think they would have to

I think they’d have to pay to move him but they don’t have to move him. They can afford him if they don’t plan on doing anything else this offseason.

he's an upgrade on what a lot of teams have at 3C or 3RW when he's healthy
more likely he gets moved for a similar spare part (ex. Russell from Oilers) than picks, but it won't be negative value for Pittsburgh

Just coming back to this as bjugstad didn’t really have positive value as I thought. Half retained for a conditional 7th. But they didn’t have to pay to get rid of his contract so I guess that’s good for pit.

They had to retain 50% and only got a 7th. Is that really positive value?

Did they have to pay anything or give up value? No.

So it’s positive value or at worst, even
