I agree Ottawa has picks to burn but a 2nd and a 3rd for Byron is too much. They arent just gonna give picks away. I think someone gives granland a better deal. If the markets that dry he probably signs a 1 year deal.

Interesting. I think that’s actually a very good offer for mantha but would understand if they would prefer just to keep.

When did Mantha ever say he didn’t want to be a part of Detroit’s rebuild. He just bought a house in Detroit and there’s been rumours of him being very close to a 5-year extension.

Why would Ottawa give up multiple high picks for an overpaid, old 4th liner with term left? If we want a veteran we'll get paid to take a cap dump or sign a free agent, if we trade our draft capitol it'll be for a young piece that can contribute to our future, not to help your cap situation

Byron is a 20+ goal scorer, not a fourth liner.

Where'd you get the idea mantha doesn't want to be apart of the rebuild. Also still wouldn't get you mantha

Yea, I think he stays in Detroit. I only said he doesn't want to be there because that's most likely the only way he gets moved.

Sorry, it's 2020. Byron had 4 goals, 10 points in 29 games. At age 31, he appears to be declining. Ottawa doesn't want the term on his 3.1m deal either

Calgary would get a huge return for Gaudreau that consists of current and future assets, Tatar is just to add depth to the top 6, not to replace Gaudeau.

Just a 'what if' scenario as he most likely stays if he wants to.

He was on pace for a whopping 11 this year and Montreal, notably lacking true starpower on the wings, has at least 6 better wingers than him. Even on a rebuilding Ottawa I wouldn't play him more than Duclair, Brown, Formenton, Tkachuk, Batherson, or Ryan next year for starters (I would honestly rather give guys like Balcers and Abramov a shot over him as well) so yeah, he's pretty much a 4th liner. Not worth more than a late pick. For that contract, probably negative value.

You under-value Domi. Mantha in a first line role was on pace for 30 goals and 75 points this year, Domi had 28 goals 72 points in a top 6 role in Montreal.

1st off Mantha is a power forward and Domi is a slower smallish winger.

Again the problem is it helps Montreal because of the glut of centers and lack of wingers. Wings need centers and wingers so they fill one hole but create another. And this is done in division which enormously helps Montreal and does nothing for the Wings.

As far as the only gets if he asks for a trade, how about if the Wings get a decent return that does not include Domi.

Like it matters, Domi is soft, a primadonna and not good in the locker room. Wings fans want nothing to do with Domi and you MUST overpay for someone who has 0 desire to move along with a team that doesn't want to trade him. Your undervaluing what mantha means to the wings. No deal you keep Domi and wings rescind their counter offer now

OTT declines super quick.

OTT isnt interested in paying for Byron full stop. If you think you can recoup assets for him, you need to find another team.

Blues don't need a goalie and if we did we would have had you throw that in on the Allen deal. Secondly, if allen gets a 3rd how does this dude pull a 5th? you'd be lucky to get someone to pay a 7th for him

NOTHING REALISTIC HERE.

Bergevin wouldn't offer 8M at Sergashev and TB would match.

The last thing Calgary need is a winger.

Lindgren isn’t even worth a 7th.

Ottawa wont take a contract of 3x3. 4M for a bottom 6 player. Melnyk is cheap, if you havent noticed.

Detroit dont want to trade Mantha and the low value of your offer is laughable.
