I think the Rangers accept that but im not sure it makes them better in the end. Domi is gonna get a bad contract just like strome, and maybe he is better than him but maybe he isnt. At least he is younger...

realistic would be danault for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. like pageau. 1st, kaut, jost is too much unless you're sending another good piece too.

i think that would be comparable to the pageau deal. avs add a conditional 3rd if they win the cup.

Tatar plays both sides of the ice but seeing as it is a contract year he may want to play his strong side. Which is left.

The Detroit trade isn’t too bad but just doesn’t make too much sense for us. We have guys like Mete so I’d rather keep the pick and play guys like Cholowski.

Rangers can't add salary... actually they need to shred some (not much but can't add)
I would send Danault + Armia + 2nd to NYR instead for Tony & Buch

Can you sign Deangelo at that price for longer term ??? I Like your idea of replacing Petry with a similar type of player (DeAngelo) but younger. However, for this to be a real gain, it would have to be someone we can lock for 6-7 years, at this lower cap hit $$$. A Samuel Girard type of contract. I don't see that much advantage of having Deangelo over Petry for the next 3 years, and then we risk loosing him because he'll want too much $$$.

Jost is of no use the Habs, the 1st is late and Kaut isnt good enough to make up for all that, easy no from the Habs

No you don't. Seriously DET fans.

"5. Victor Mete, D, Montreal-NHL
June 7, 1998 | 5-foot-9 | 183 pounds

Tier: Very good NHL player
Skating: 65
Puck Skills: 55
Physical Game: 30
Hockey Sense: 60

Mete has played three full NHL seasons where he’s been a modest-scoring defenseman who has played third-pair minutes. His skating is clearly the best aspect of his game. His edgework, and especially his speed, are elite and allow him to push the pace when leading attacks up the ice. There isn’t a lot about his game that dazzles outside his skating. He’s a smart passer who makes good outlets and has some blue line creativity, but I don’t think his puck game wows and as a 5-foot-9 defender it’s hard to see him as a “tough matchups” type. I think there’s enough to his skill set that he could progress into a league-average defenseman but it would be nice to see his game take a big step soon."

"7. Dennis Cholowski, D, Grand Rapids-AHL
Feb. 15, 1998 | six-foot | 194 pounds

Tier: Legit NHL player
Skating: 60
Puck Skills: 55
Physical Game: 40
Hockey Sense: 60

After playing up in the NHL for most of 2018-19, Cholowski didn’t take that next step and bounced between the AHL and NHL last season. He has NHL qualities in his skating and vision. He can get pucks up the ice through his easy stride and ability to make a great first pass. Cholowski can make plays from the offensive blue line and has power-play skill. Cholowski though has struggled defensively at the higher levels. He was a power play only guy without penalty kill duties last season in the AHL and NHL. He has the mobility to stay with players, but he isn’t necessarily a hard to play against defender and has struggled to be consistent enough in that regard to earn the trust of his coaches."

Mete would be your 3rd best defenseman and he is Left handed. Him and Seider would be an excellent combo.

Also prospects ranked from 14th to 24th this year project as "Very Good". Mete for a 3rd is a joke. You declining Mete for a 3rd is bigger joke.

it's a good idea to secure the long term now. I'm guessing a 6x6M for tony its a good price.

I am always sceptical when I see "Realistic" in the title and 5 trades lined up. Add to that Taylor Hall and I really start to wonder.

The trades you have are all reasonably balanced, likely pleasing no one which ultimately means you probably gave as much as you got. I don't understand a few of them, though.

1) Top of that list is DeAngelo for Domi. I think they're both excellent players, but why would the Habs trade for an RHD when they already have Weber and Petry -- unless you're planning to move one of them? So that's the #1 headscratcher.
2) If you're building a team for "now", then why wouldn't you keep Danault. McCann is OK, but he's not nearly the proven asset that Danault is. Jost is an OK all-purpose player, but could likely be had for less than what you're paying. Kaut doesn't factor into your "near" plans and while we all love draft picks, giving up Danault for a pick is a major risk.
3) You won't have to pay to give away Byron. There are plenty of teams who would give you a 3rd or 4th for him straight up. When he's healthy, he's definitely an asset and when he's injured, he doesn't cost your team anything.
4) Unless his contract terms are ludicrous, there's no reason to rush Mete out of town. Even if Romanov explodes onto the scene, the Habs don't yet have the depth at LD to feel they have to move him for a mere 3rd rounder. If someone offered you a great deal, then take it. But a 3rd rounder is a painful giveaway for a 22-year-old who had already played 171 games in the NHL.

1) in fact in the description of this tread. I want to trade Petry at deadline. So yes i'm going younger at RD with :
Chariot Weber
Romanov - Deangelo
Kulak - Juulsen/Fleury

2) I guess i mean you're right. I just don't want to give 6M to a 3rd center if Kk and Suzuki takes 1 and 2.

3) I guess yes when Byron hes healthy but it's been 2 years since he had a good season and he have a big contract for a guy who play on the 3rd or 4th line

4) I don't think Mete have a big value. Except his skating he brings nothing

Pens decline regardless because he is a left handed shot. They already have enough of those. A top 6 right handed shot (preferably RW too) that has a shot good enough to play the left wall on the PP would be much more ideal

Tatar has 1 year left and then is a UFA. He is not a big enough fish to give up that much for.

However, the funniest thing in this AGM is Jost on the second line.

Honestly it's because i love that player. he had so much potential with Dakota. Maybe a new team may help this guy
