You most definitely have it backwards with the way the league is moving with goalies. The way it shakes out is pretty equal value wise but leafs say no to Carey's contract and age Habs say no because they they still believe in their goalie

Happy with the young C in MTL. Rather have the cheaper aging Price over aging JT. Price shown has shown he still has it, HHOF goalie can get into there late 30s-40s of great play.

Petry still a horse. His expiring contract is more appealing then Anderson’s. Only way this makes sense of Primeau is the future

Poehling and Liligrin are both looking disappointing but mtl has enough mid range D prospect right now, more interested in poehling as a Winger then center, that’s what he play at WJC and fr at SCSU and MTL need more W prospects. Poehling also only had 1 year of pro tons of time to watch him grow.


Also there is a chance both fan bases hate this trade.

I think MTL says no. Only because even with this deal they're pretty much in the same spot, where as Toronto is still contenders.

That price contract is horrid. He is 33.

I wouldn't trade Tavares for those three.

First of all this is great, talk about stirring the pot. But truthfully its a good trade both teams need a shake up. Both fan bases will say its not enough for our guys, but as a Habs fan I’d do it. Of course you’d have to get Price and Tavares to agree.

I think this is great for both teams. I love JT, but his wheels make me nervous, and that is what MTL needs. Price would be Roy in COL and thrive.

JT has some good years left and would elavate some of those MTL wingers. Freddie is a good goalie. Price is great. Leafs would still need some grit up front and make some changes there
