Winnipeg lets get something done

Created by: Pmanningno2
Team: 2020-21 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 9, 2020
Published: Sep. 9, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Peg, your getting a very motivated Domi, a good D prospect and a 2nd.
Somebody will take Tatar for a 1st and 2nd if not Pitt(with an extension).
Tatar is expendable if we can sign Hall.
We can sign all of Danault, Gallagher and Petry;
Dan 5x5
Pet 3x6
Gall 5x6-6.5

Allen 4.3, Armia, 2.6 and Weal 1.4 coming off the books.
Buy out Alzner last year.
Move or hopefully Seattle takes Byron.

We'd need Poehling, Caufield, Ylonen and maybe Hillis to be ready for full time NHL work.

Honestly I'll be mad if Winnipeg doesn't trade a winger for someone like domi who can play center. This makes a lot of sense

Extremely easy no from Winnipeg. There's no chance they move 5 years of a first line winger for 2 years of Domi, a struggling AHL defenseman and a second. Terrible offer.

Domi has 2 years of RFA and I gave an offer of 3 different defenceman
Pay attention before you comment.

Domi is 2 years from UFA and the two of the three defenseman you offered are terrible and the third is meh and don't close the huge gap between Ehlers and Domi at all.. Try to understand contracts and player quality before you post.

Everybody overvalued their own players.

Youd have 2 offseasons to strike a LT deal with Domi.
Mete has 170 NHL games under his belt at 22 and has improved every year.
Juulsen was looking very, very solid before the eye injury.
Brook led all defenceman in points in the W his final year.
These are 3 solid prospects.

Your being rediculous Ehlers is no superstar, hes a very solid top 6F.

It's a good deal.

Nope. Not close. Don't be silly. If it's so easy to sign Domi and he's so good, then just sign and keep him long term. The Jets aren't going to drastically downgrade from Ehlers to Domi just to make you happy.

What is your deal @Windjammer .

"Just to make you happy". The jets desperately need C's. After Scheifle got hurt their C lineup was probably the worst in the NHL. They are where MTL was years ago relying on godlike goaltending to even compete.

Ehlers: 257 pts in 369 games.
Domi: 251 pts in 375 games.

They are super comparable. Ehlers is a year younger, but Domi plays C which is more valuable. This is pretty fair 1 for 1. MTL is adding a young future NHL D and 2nd are you are calling it an "Extremely Easy No" and "A terrible offer".

Get real.

Points aren't everything. Ehlers is a far better play driver as a winger that Domi is as a center which negates the supposed center advantage Domi has. Domi without his fluke season is a 40-45 point player and of course you completely ignore 5 years of team control to 2. A choice between a couple of bad defenseman doesn't close the gap. It's a not close, terrible offer.

So, it's not really my deal. It's just that I think Winnipeg would rather keep the higher quality player rather than trade him for a collection of much lesser parts that don't make the Jets a better team. Propose an offer that at least attempts to be fair and I'd be happy to discuss it.

Your going to be very sad in a few weeks when one of Ehlers, Connor, or Laine is traded for a C.
Your going to feel like you've been fleeced.

Also, the reason I don't care to sign Domi anymore is because hes been passed at C and were set at C.
You only the other hand have 1 good, albeit elite C
