Warning Its Parayko

Description
Saw a trade like this one from @NoWah49. Leafs fans may want to turn it down, but to me this is about what it would take to move Parayko. I know this doesn't fit the 'all-in' window mentality for the Blues, but it would give them the ability to re-stock the pool and stay competitive. Deep forward group when Tarasenko comes back.

now that I'm actually looking at it from the Blues perspective, it's a hell of a deal. if Schwartz leaves, it still gives you a solid top 6 and everything. Nice

Change Liljegren to Sandin and the value is there.

In terms of your roster, Steen on LTIR is still very optimistic.

This is unrelated, but what would you want for Sanford?

As a Leafs fan, I think I would accept... Yes it's a lot but we get the piece we been coveting for years in Parayko, as well as a decent depth piece in Barbashev.

We shed cap space in Kerfoot, give up a quality young defender who has been passed by Sandin on the depth chart (you need to give to get), Robertson who has shown a ton of potential, but is going to find it hard to crack a top 6 role with the current crop we have and the first.... It's a steep price to pay, but I don't mind it at all.

I would be open to finding a way to grab Shwartz as well?

depends on the rest of the moves, but raw value, something like a mid-round 2nd, maybe a little something more. Good middle six winger on a solid deal.

I think the Blues could find a way to get Schwartz extended if they did something like this. Def would rather keep him than Perron if that's what it came down to. So unless someone like Kyrou or Blais takes a huge step, I wouldn't even be listening to offers on him. He stirs the drink on whatever line you put him on.

That's not enough for Parayko. For the 10,000th time on this site, it's quality over quantity.

Parayko starts with Nylander or Marner, simple.

Does anyone know if Robertson ELC is going to slide? Will he have 3 yrs of ELC at the start of next season?

Yes. He didn't play enough games in the playoffs (sadly) to burn a year.

Those offers wouldn't get the Blues any closer to signing Pietrangelo, and wouldn't jive positionally when Perron, Tarasenko, and Kyrou are all fighting for top6 RW spots. I don't mind some of the Nylander-Parayko concepts, but just because this offer is quantity doesn't mean there is no quality to it. Checks a lot of boxes IMO. Just depends on your idea of a contention window.

That's huge tbh, I think some people might be downplaying what it would mean to have a guy like Robertson for 3 yrs at 850k. Or maybe I'm just super high on the kid.

I am as well, though I think his immediate expectations should be tempered.

His money is in that cap hit, he's on regular IR here. Tbh I was gonna buy him out but ended up with enough cap space to dodge it.

If it's Sandin in there, that's a big W for the Blues. I don't think Dubas is gonna move him though.

For sure, but if he was NHL ready for the Leafs, he's probably NHL ready for the Blues and if he's scoring 15 goals on a 3rd line next year at 850k, and then works his way up, that's huge for a team at the cap ceiling.

Yep. I think years 2 and 3 of that deal could be huge. He plays a more physical style as well, not throwing massive hits or anything but he's really engaged in battles and things like that so once he fills out a bit, he could be a very dangerous player.

As a side note here, would you consider something like Engvall and 3rd for Sanford? Sanford's the better player, but Engvall is slightly cheaper with an extra year before needing an extension.

I don't know much about Engvall tbh but if he could fill the 3LW role and kill penalties I guess it's possible. Seems too lateral though for the tiny cap savings, and Sanford has shooting talent that a lot of our roster lacks, so I'd lean toward a 'no'.

no this is pretty close in value imo. The only thing is I think Kostin will be ready to play next year and he would need to play 3rd line imo. Maybe move Sanford at this point
