Take JVR out of the deal, add Nolan Patrick and Joel Ferabee, and you’re closer.
Yup, I agree, Read my reply to Dirty

It would cost at least 4 firsts, someone to fill his spot and a prospects to get him away. Thats like asking what it would take to get McDavid (yes I know they arent the same)

You could offer the entire roster and people would laugh at the offer, that's the nature of shooting your shot with a player like Eichel. The truth is a blue chip prospect, a young defenseman with top pairing upside, 2 firsts and a good player who can step into the lineup and produce to offset the cap is an insane return, and if Eichel is truly upset to a point where he wants to leave and they decide to start the rebuild over again I think they at least consider this
No of course that would be silly, but for someone as good as Eichel one needs to give up real talent.

LMFAO, closer? You get a solid 2nd pairing D, a prospect that has 1C potential, 2 1sts and a capable middle 6 winger. BUF could really use all this to maybe push them into the playoffs in 2-3 years because they sure aren't close now!
Sure it appears to be a good offer in your mind because you made it.
How many of the people who commented to your offer were not Sabre fans, who all agree this is not enough.
You say 2 firsts are included, this years 23 OA and next years with Eichel replacing JVR, I think you are looking at Philadelphia being in the final four, so really 2 picks that are closer to seconds than good first round picks.
You are certainly correct Frost has top line center capabilities, but as I watch more playoffs, I see just how good Eichel really is. In fact he is the Sabres entire offense.
Frost will not replace that.
Sanheim also appears to be a good LHD something Buffalo needs. Or do they need a top LHD with Dahlin? A solid RW would fill the bill better
He would certainly add depth, but he is not an upgrade over our current LHD, Dahlin
JVR is very talented and I would love to have him if Buffalo did not already have Olofsson, Skinner and Kahun.
IMO if Philadelphia really wanted Eichel it would have to be:
2020, and 2021 first round picks (because both of these are going to be really closer to 2nd rounders),
Konecny
Sanheim
Frost
Patrick
If you want to include JVR (or Gostisbehere) it would only be as a cap reduction not to add value to the trade.
BTW YES Jack is that good. He does not have a single player even close to his talent level on this team.
BTW if you check out what it cost to get Lindros = for Chris Simon, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, Ron Hextall, Peter Forsberg, Steve Duchesne, future considerations, round 1 pick in the 1993 draft, round 1 pick in the 1994 draft and cash, the offer I have above may not be close.
BTW Lindros was only a great prospect, he never played a single NHL game, Jack is signed and is a proven starter. After watching the playoffs, he is the best player I have watched no one comes close.
EDIT another thought about the Lindros trade, he said he would never play for Quebec, Eichel has not announced this, so the offer would be to PRY him out of Buffalo, so MUCH more than it cost to get Lindros.

Why trade for a potential #1 center when we already have a #1 center? and when I said 4 first i meant 2 more on top of the 2 already presented.

There that is my rant of the day.
Stay tuned for tomorrow for my next rant.
EDIT:
Let me add, as good as this offer is, it does not at all cripple the Flyers, they still have a solid offense and defense.
With Jack they would be cup contenders for many years.
So stop trying to go cheap and make a sound offer and go for the cup.
Maybe with these spare parts and picks Buffalo could make the playoffs in a year or so.
