Additional Details:
As a Col and Mtl fan, I'm curious to see who thinks this is fair/lopsided. Domi signs $5M to play on a cup contender.

MTL
  1. Anisimov, Artem
  2. 2020 2nd round pick (CBJ)
OTT
  1. Brook, Josh
  2. Byron, Paul
  3. Weal, Jordan
Additional Details:
Byron > Anisimov.
Considering Anisimov's contract is worse but one year shorter. Josh Brook has great potential but needs to develop with an organisation that develops Dmen much better than Mtl.

Sens decline, Byron's contract is worse because it has term, Anisimov only has one year. Plus he's Russian so he can help Zub transition. We have no interest in Byron/Weal and while Brook is a decent prospect, it's weird to give up a pick for him when we could just use it to draft a younger RD

Deals fine. I’m a big believer in Timmins and I would hate to see him moved but domi fits.

Don’t think they have to include Timmins to make a domi trade, graves as the roster piece with draft picks should be able to do it

OTT instantly declines.

Anisimov = Byron, just on a more expensive contract. That said, Anisimov is done 2 years before Byron, not 1.

Drop the 2nd round pick and OTT accepts

Kings don't need Mete. I'm sure you could find a taker for him, but it won't be LA.

I think it's very likely Mete starts 2021 with another team. He is a bottom pair dman who hasn't shown the ability to play top4 minutes. On some nights he is our worst dman. Now, with Romanov coming in and Chariot playing well, the only ways to upgrade are to move Mete and Kulak for someone stronger. Mete is a bigger trading chip than Kulak.

OK to trade him as part of a package to fill an immediate need or an upgrade (ie. top 9 winger with size), but getting rid of him now for just draft picks seems pointless. Romanov might need some AHL games, too. Mete still has 2nd pairing potential but will be fine on 3rd pairing.

It was reported/suggested that Romanov has a no-AHL clause in his contract. As of now, Mete and Kulak are already fighting for a position as the final 3rd LD. Mete can sometimes play RD, but if so this takes away playing time from Juulsen, Fleury and Brooke. Having Mete around is starting to become a hinderance for the development of other Dmen who potentially have a higher ceiling. I think Mete is the next Ron Hainsey. Bottom pairing guy his entire career but he'll have a long one.
