Really?? Do you actually think every trade made is based on face value of each player? Was Coleman and Goodrow worth a 1st+2nd each?? Every thing is always based on supply and demand...there are rare exceptions.

    umm.. yes, they were.

They're both players that could slot into a top-6 role if need be, and they are cost controlled that assist in fitting in a team with cap issues that needed depth to put them over the top, and they are both penalty killers who can score and free up room for top-6 players to focus on offense.

So, yeah, they were definitely worth it for 1.5 seasons of use.

and for a team with a plethora of prospects, missing out on the first round this year isn't exactly a problem.

So.... once again, yeah, worth it.

Danault, to a cap strapped team that has $53M devoted to 7 players, yeah, they don't need another big contract.

Exactly so it's supply and demand. Coleman and Goodrow were worth that ONLY to TB. What do you think Danault is gonna get? 7 mill? 5.5 MAX and he'll possibly take less to play for that team.

    Bad for who?

    where do i start...
Tuch Trade...bad for MTL. Caufield was a point per game player as a 19 year old in NCAA. He lead the Big 10 in goal scoring. Tuch had 17 points last season. Sure the contract is great but I would rather have 3 years of caufields entry level then Tuchs contract for a middle 6 winger.

Wont even comment on the Winnipeg trade, but I will say that's really really one sided. Brook, Armia, and Fleury dont get you a 60 point winger.

stop trading Danault. why are we trading really good 2 way centers?

    Tatar for JVR....but why?

Gallagher for Klef..nah man. Gallagher is way to important to the teams identity and make up for klef that is a 34 point dman that had 18 points on a loaded PP. he is a fine top 4 but not worth Gallagher.

I think they were worth around that to most teams, Tampa overpaid because they needed it more than others, so yes, Supply and Demand was never an issue being discussed.

So do you believe that San Jose is in search of a 2/3C, Danault takes $4M, assuming a discount, that still means in a flat cap, you have $62M devoted to 8 players (doesn't include Hertl off of IR either). leaving you $19M to round out a roster of 15 other players. It doesn't work, unless Karlsson or Burns or Vlasic or Jones are moved. (and nobody is touching Jones)

The rest of the moves are equally as bad.

Winnipeg wants a 2C, and you give them a bunch of prospects and bottom-6 guys that are not centers for a rent-controlled top-6 winger.... they've been searching for a center for 3 years now, Hayes last year, Stastny the year before, and you give them unproven defenseman?

    get out of here. lol
