Fully prepared to get massacred for the Ekblad proposal but I'm just messing around and I think he's an interesting piece that fills a need but don't really know what he'd cost

This strikes me as way, way too much for Ekblad. He is a great young player who plays a role that is hard to fill, but you better be getting a top-10 D in hockey if you're trading away 2 firsts and your best 2 prospects and then some

This is too much and nothing at all at the same time. Honestly I dont think PHI has anything that FLA would want in return for Ekblad. PHI is full of bottom 6 forwards and mediocre prospects.

You'd have to start with Hayes or Provorov but then what? Only so many 1sts to go around.

This. He'd be awesome to have but not at that price, as we're not in that desperate of a need.

We have about at least 3-4 prospects that are really good, and in no way "mediocre". Provorov is a non starter as him and Ekblad are on a similar level. Ekblad is just slightly more valuable given him being a RD. I think Florida and Philly could make a deal, just depends what Florida is looking for. I don't think Ekblad is one of the changes they are willing to make though so any deal for him would be an extreme overpay, which I don't think Philly should make. So i say no deal, but Philly would likely start a deal with Konecny + or Sanheim +.

Ya "really good", whether that's true or not, doesn't get you anywhere close to Ekblad.

All of PHI's pieces are either not intriguing (Frost, Patrick, York, Ghost, etc) or guys that they have no interest in trading (Provorov, Hayes, Konecny, etc).

The only reason I included two firsts is even though Ekblad makes more than JVR its a hard contract to eat so there would need to be a sweetener to take him as part of the deal. I also don't know if I agree that they're the two best prospects Frost is probably the best prospect but I think Zamula is their best prospect on the back end.

Considering Florida’s ownership wants to cut cap and giving management an internal cap of around 70m I would say good prospects like Frost and York are very intriguing

Ya and trading your best player/Dman isn't the way to do that. They are not intriguing.
