Tampa trade is interesting, could definitely see one of their NTC guys waive your stay in Florida. Big difference between the Panthers and Lightning obviously though

I think Poile passes there -- he wants to see what Tolvanen can do.

Hi Devils fans, what is so funny on the trade? Matheson is still serviceable 2nd pairing guy in good years with experience. Is the issue - price or contract length? I'm open to modify my proposal.

Matheson's contract isn't something the Devils would want, especially with his play in the play-in round. And Devils don't want to trade Boqvist, one of our best prospects, for Matheson. We could sign someone better and for a better contract in free agency

In my opinion Poile has been waiting too long. It's a shame to choose a player as your number 1 and then not giving him a regular roster spot. Finally, month before contract expiration GMs say in an interview the player is a very valuable piece in their organization and they are not willing to part with him. On the other hand you have players who were not expected to reach NHL level but play years for some team just because there were many injuries at some point. These were given enough ice time despite their performance was not good and later became a stable part of the team. I'd move to Europe in summer 2019 if I were Tolvanen.

Hi Devil1122, first thanks for your response. Agree with you there are few better LDs in free agency this year but who knows if NJ really signs them. Still see Matheson as a doable scenario if negotiations fail. As to Boqvist I'm not insisting to include him in the trade, it can be some other prospect from the minors.

hi, it doesn't matter how old he is but how long he has been to Preds organization. that makes 3 years and 7 games. now what? do you think he's prepared for the 1st team? I strongly doubt Preds management answer yes. do you see his future in another 2 or 1 year 2-way contract with Preds? I don't. it's just too little for a guy who played finland, khl, world championship - junior and senior level.

The road to NSH has always been through Milwaukee (with very few exceptions) - always has been. He's been adjusting to NA ice and looked good towards the end of the season. Now there are spots open in NSH, and one will likely go to him.
