Is Letang really an improvement over Barrie?

Letang really isn't the d-man TOR needs. He's an offensive minded one with defensive gaps. I'd take him before Gardiner/Zaitsev/Barrie/Ceci (even though that's not saying much) but he really doesn't move the needle that much for TOR.

I don't think GMJR pulls the trigger on that move tho

I would agree I would prefer a cheaper Defensive D but he also brings a winning pedigree

Defiantly better than Barrie if healthy.

Pens decline. Letang is aging but he's still elite. Great cap hit and only two more years on contract. Johnnson meh and Dermott isnt great. Andersen chokes game 7s

Anderson would be flipped. Letang is also often injured

Pens going to run with Jarry as the number 1, and a cost effective back up.

Not sure they move Letang, he is their most important D man, despite age and injuries.

If anything, Pens move Malkin for a lower tier top 9 center and help on the back end.
