Jackets decline, Oilers are getting the better end of the deal almost all the way around.
Besides, EDM 2021-22 salary projection shows only $12.8M available cap space with 8 F, 6 D and 2 G signed.
They would still need 6 F and 1 D man to sign for a full 23 man roster. Good luck.

Cap space won’t be a issue as Wennberg would be packaged with a pick so settle takes him in the expansion draft leaving us with 17.7 mil in cap space

That doesn’t mean it’s a good trade.

I think the trade even RNH is the best player and he’s going your way, a exchange of bad contracts were your getting most product player, a player just removed from scoring 30 goals and 2 players that can walk right and help the team, the jackets need a top 2 centre and scoring on the wing and that’s what I gave you. Oilers get a winger a goalie that’s not proven if he could be a everyday starter no a 1A1B guy and player that torts has no love for and a prospect RNH is the best player in this deal and top 6 centres cost more to acquire via trade

That will be expensive. CBJ paid VGK a 1st to take Karlsson off our hands for us, and he made only like $1,500,000.

No thanks on the CBJ trade. I realise it clears enough space to pick up Hoffman, but that doesn't sway me. Hoffman's 5v5 scoring is basically identical to Athanasiou's over the past 2 years, and AA had much, much worse linemates. Besides, Hoffman is 30 and will be declining over the length of that deal.

Wennberg is a cap dump, he's younger than Neal and a center but doesn't have Neal's PP upside. He's worth a little more but not much, it's like arguing over which dwarf is taller.

Nuge > Bjorkstrand and it's not close, even with the cap savings.

Korpisalo has been largely below average the past 4 years, you'll be able to pick up better goalies in free agency and CBJ has to move him if they don't want to lose him for nothing to Seattle. I wouldn't pay much for him at all.

It’s just a little fun, I really hope Holland does the same as last yr tinker around the edges the 2021/22 offseason we get rid of these bad contracts and then he can really start moulding this team into a long term contender everyone freaking out because this team had a bad 7 day stretch under the most bizarre circumstances
Let’s focus on all the positive steps we took this yr we were battling for the divisional title down the stretch

Columbus actually can keep Korpi easily, since Elvis is exempt from the Seattle draft. We're likely to re-sign Kivlenieks for the purpose of exposing him.

Love how everyone is missing that LIAM FOUDY is part of the Columbus trade. Foudy and Bjorkstrand are 100% off the table unless RNH comes with an extension. Wennberg>Neal, Wennberg is younger, cheaper and his buyout is less then a mil. The rest of the trade is meh, we didn’t want Puljujarvi then and we don’t want him now. Torts said no to adding AA at the deadline so we pulled out of the trade, doubt he wants him now and Benson is just a useless throw in.

The only player in the deal Columbus wants is RNH, and as he’s a rental we aren’t giving up Korpisalo, Foudy, and Bjorkstrand for him. Also Bjorkstrand was Columbus best forward last season. We aren’t trading him.
