I really, really like this team....

Mangiapane will probably get more, unless he takes a Labanc 1 year deal or something in hopes he'll get more next offseason. I think Arizona would probably want a little more for Kuemper too. Otherwise, this team is a legit contender in my mind. Maybe I'm crazy but it looks really good

I agree with the Arizona point, I was thinking give them back exactly what they lost in a 2021 1st and a 2020 2nd plus Rittich still. I did a lot of comparing to Bennett's contract coming off of his ELC and he had better numbers than Mangiapane, arbitration rights do throw a wrench in the mix for sure though.

Nah, it would be closer than you think, team moving money out, would have to protect a goalie from Seattle, middle of the road farm system with players graduating and just lost all their draft capital. Getting into the top 60 picks should be priority number one for Arizona at this point. Cheaper goalie that fits a 1A 1B tandem better than having nearly nine million invested in a 1 - 2 situation. Kuemper will price himself out of Arizona in two years, add a pick or a prospect to this trade and I thikn it gets done.

Yeah, on a multi-year deal, I think Mangiapane could get up to double what he's getting here. Sucks for Arizona that trading their top-10 goalie basically helps them break even, but that's the price you pay for cheating. Goalie values are hard, but I think a replacement goalie, a 1st and a 2nd should do the trick

While your points are valid, Kuemper is the 2nd most valuable goalie in the NHL right now. Trading Kuemper would make sense for the team, but they would need to get a return worthy of a top-5 goalie on an amazing contract. Especially since if he’s traded for non-roster players, he immediately makes most teams (like Calgary) among the best teams in the league and true contenders.

We will agree to disagree. He is valuable but was behind Scott Wedgewood in the depth chart as recent as two years ago.. He is 30 with a body of work as a starter of 84 games with some injury trouble in there, personally moving a 1st in a deep draft is a gamble on a guy who has just over one full season of starter experience but one worth taking if you're Calagry to sort out the goalie situation for two years. I would argue that Markstrom (30 years old 163GP as a starter 0.914 S%) and Lehner (30 years old 194GP as a starter 0.922S%) could be valued higher than Kuemper (30 years old 84GP as a starter 0.926S%) this off season and with half the league possibly switching starters and Arizona needing to get into the draft this is a good situation for both.

2021 is not a deep draft at all, especially after the early first round. And of course Kuemper is more valuable than Lehner & Markstrom, he’s better than them and he’s not a UFA. And his contract is much cheaper than what their contracts will be. The difference between him and Rittich isn’t a late 1st in a weak draft (and giving up Hinostroza). Plus the Coyotes wouldn’t even want Rittich.

Again, agree to disagree I think you're out to lunch on your valuation here of a guy with 84 games in a starter role who missed 2 months with an injury last season. Pick is supposed to be 2020.
