VGK isn’t going to be able to retain salary and take more on. Also don’t think they’ll send a pick out if they are retaining salary

I don't think Fleury is the solution we need.

Fleury and NJ's 2021 2nd rd pick, for Francouz, No salary retained as Vegas needs a backup as nobody is in their system, and they would have to pay to take on 2 years at $7M cap hit.

Fleury is a great locker room guy, has won cups and was apparently great and supportive of Murray when he had taken the reigns, and he's still a solid tender.

No need for Hall, you need depth scoring, a veteran like Craig Smith, or Toffoli would likely come in cheaper, allowing to keep Donskoi and round out the middle 6

Zadorov could be moved in a separate deal.

Colorado would have no interest at $7m, it's just way too much considering our cap structure in 2021 especially. Fleury isn't $3.7m better than Grubauer, if at all even.

Retention would be much more valuable than the draft pick though.

less of a question of him being XX-million better, and more of "when will Grubauer get injured again", what dragged them down this off-season was relying on Francouz and Hutchinson to be a true-starter and carry the team... a Fleury/Grubauer tandem can do that.

With Cole, Grubauer and Calvert coming off the books that should give you enough to sign Landeskog (+2.5-3M over current) and sign Makar 8 years 8M.

definitely Salary retention might be more attractive, Vegas needs the room too.
The Zadarov subsequent trade could be for a more attractive piece on a good contract.

Any team would be screwed if both their starter and backup got injured.

Makar will get $9m+.
