Well now, that's just a damn clever idea (even if I think the pick the Blues get should probably be bumped up 2-3 rounds). You need to get Army on the horn with that stroke of genius.

I’m hoping he has some value, but I could see a 5 million 3rd-liner being a tough sell. Bozak at 2.5 though...

From the Wings perspective, I’d say a 3rd is fair retaining 2.5 mil. The only thing would be we could decide to take on larger contracts for more compensation.

I don’t think the Blues would be too interested considering how weak our prospect pool is. Maybe steen, but he also has a full NTC.

For a team lacking depth that wants to contend (read: Edmonton), he definitely has value. But that's just details. The bones of the idea are quite simply brilliant.

Love it, great idea, we get a 3rd and a chance at a mid prospect.

The basis of this deal are Detroit paying $2m in salary for Walman and a mid/late third. I just can't see them doing that when revenues are way down.

The might well be willing to take Bozak, but they'd likely just hold onto him until the deadline and then try and get a 2nd & 3rd for him with 50% retention. Demand will be a lot higher at the deadline for a centre who is strong at the dot.

That’s true, would Detroit take on the full contract though?

Interesting idea. Just making sure I got this right. Edmonton gives up a 3rd for Detroit to retain and a 7th to blues? I can respect that offer.

I think it's something they would consider. They need a centre and they are rebuilding.

The main thing they'll want to avoid is a culture of losing and a lack of accountability from players.. that typically means good veterans in to at least keep them competitive in games.
