Great way to make the team slower older and worse. Also Larsson straight up sucks and Dermott is better with a tonne of upside. This is all unnecessary or just bad.

A solid squad if you're playing 'red rover'.

The Wild have no reason to do this.

You spelled Champion wrong, but I like the way you spell it better. If the Rangers or any other team were to trade for Dermott, how much do you (or anyone) think Dermott would command in salary for a two year bridge deal?

$2M but then again, the leafs gave Gardiner 4M in similar situation years back

Aren't the wild up against it with a slow, older team?

They have ~25 LW options next year though.

The water in Toronto wouldn't be the problem because there are lots of leafs fans outside Toronto. I suppose those ones are more intellegant.....

This is another great example of "other teams RHD are so great". Having two middling RHD....Larsson and Pateryn for 6.4m. Surely there a thousand better ways to spend that cap.
If Crawford is good enough to be a # 1 goalie at 3.25m, I suppose he would sign elsewhere for more, like maybe Carolina and the Canes keep their picks.

The bet is Crawford is the man without a chair if all these goalies get shuffled around. Simply a fortuitous hope at this point. He's not a $6M goalie and he's not a $5M goalie in my opinion, but i think health considering, he would have two Ed Belfour type years left in him.

As for the D - you're not going to get 2D that can play the right side at that price... or better yet - show me... its not the fantstic upgrade we all want, but its the best i could find for$6M

I just think it's kinda nonsensical that the Leafs and the Leafs ONLY have to right shooting Dmen to play the right side which to he common theme on CapFriendly.
I'd rather overpay lets's say 4.1m for DeMelo for four years and get assets back for a Kerfoot, if he's the cap casualty then strictly a Kerfoot for Larsson deal.
Don't how switching the 30 year RHD Pateryn for 23 year old and cheaper Dermot makes the Leafs better. IMO Dermot who has played the last two seasons, with inferior partners is the guy to keep.

Thats if you think Dermott has lots more upside. I think what we see is what he is... I think he's a 4-5 LHD... and right now, behind Reilly, and Muzzin... and the need for a 2-4 RHD... he's a good chip to play because his value is still there, and people think he has more to give. Its like trading Schenn for JVR... at the time, Schenn had lots of upside, but he was what we saw and not much more. IF you think Sandin is ready... which is a question in itself.
