Yeah, they do okay. My worry about Trouba is that he makes 8M and got 27 points last year. Given that he got fifty points the year before he signed that contract and then fell off a cliff to become arguably the 3RD on a non-playoff team, I think he has exactly no trade value. Not quite negative yet, although with one more bad year, he could be headed all the way off the deep end.

his defensive partner was Smith this year.... i would say give him an actual nhl D partner and he would become elite again.... him and orlov could be a top pairing if both play to their abilities

they have draft amazing... Mcmichael in a redraft would easily be top 15 proabably top 10.. Protas had an article about him in the athletic that he would easily be draft way higher if their was a redraft... getting a top 10 draft player late in a draft is key.

I'm still upset about the Kody Clark pick in 2018. We could've grabbed Calen Addison or Akil Thomas instead, both of whom I was jumping up and down screaming for when they were both on the board. But to address McMichael, I definitely don't think he's top 10 in a redraft, probably not top 15 either, but I know I'm quite low on him compared to most Caps fans. In no particular order - Hughes Kakko Zegras Byram Turcotte Seider Dach Cozens Newhook Krebs Caufield Boldy Knight Soderstrom Podkolzin would still be my top 15.

Just from reading that post, it looks like whoever made the rankings scouts off of YouTube highlights and EliteProspects. Having McMichael ahead of Newhook is insanity to me. I'd love to be wrong on him and the Caps actually have another legitimate offensive weapon, but I'm yet to see anything in his game that tells me he'll be anything more than a complementary middle sixer.

Read something on twitter that would suggest CM wont be NHL ready till 21-22 anyway. That makes me believe you are right but like you said hopefully we are wrong. Kuzy wasn’t suppose to be elite either and he is so who knows. Fehervary is a nice surprise. Mojo trade paying off
