Why We Trading Danault

Description
Well... the question is in the title. Why are we trading Danault?? I heard that he doesn’t want to play down the lineup, and is expected to get PAAAID next summer. What I don’t get is why can’t MTL keep him and move Kotkaniemi or Suzuki to the wing? I don’t follow the Habs, so I’m not sure if they play the wing. I’m just assuming they do since it’s says they do in here lol.

So yeah, why not just keep him and move one of the kids over? I feel like the team would be better that way?

We drafted(traded for Suzuki) to be future top end centres. Danault is getting older and isn’t as good as they hopefully will be. You don’t want to screw up development by them playing the wing. Suzuki was on the wing for a bit and was lost

News or noise? For me it's noise.
I feel like the only reason Danault would get traded is if he says to Bergevin that he doesn't want to play 3C or that he wants over 6.5M$ per year, if so he'll be on the market.

I still dont understand why Danault or Domi are being traded

Between Domi, Danault, Gally, Tatar, Suzuki, and Drouin thats a real solid top 6 and thats not even including JKK. You guys have the cap space too so its pretty confusing

Domi is RFA but was making 3.2M
Tatar UFA next year, is making $4.8M
Danault UFA next year, is making $3.1M
Gallagher UFA next year, is making $3.8M

Petry UFA next year, is making $5.5M
Mete RFA this year, was making $0.7M
Kotkaniemi RFA next year, is making $0.9M
Lehkonen RFA next year, is making $2.4M
Armia UFA next year, is making $2.6M

Starting to see why some of our players are being sold?
