Loui Three-way

Created by: ItsBlowTime
Team: 2020-21 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 11, 2020
Published: Sep. 11, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm open to tweaking both the Eriksson trades, but I wouldn't add much more.

I could be persuaded to add a prospect to the Detroit trade or a pick to the Ottawa trade.

Two years, and I said I'd be open to adding a prospect if needed so how about to read the description and come back with something constructive

Honestly I’ve come around. I’ll take Loui off your hands to Ottawa with just Kole Lind and a 2021 2nd rounder

Ok here is constructive.

Just read that most teams are cutting back on payroll, on players operations and the trend is going to continue do to the lack ticket sales. Also the cap is not going up for at least 2 years.

Why would any team, just take on someone's dead cap? In this time being able to be solvent is very important. People on this site always bash someone when the bring up Marleau or Backes and how those teams needed to give a 1st round pick up just to rid a bad contract. Well you tried to rid a bad contract that was twice as long as the two I mentioned with the same cap, 6 million. You believe you could trade a player that many believe has worn out his welcome in Vancouver and a 2nd. Well unfortunately in the new stagnant cap it will cost you more. It is just the reality. I do not believe you will want to give up a 1st and most any ks have balked at that, but with the news today and the place the Canucks are in , Wings and Ottawa are going to hold your feet to the fire..

So here we go.

For the Wings retaining 3 million for two years they will want a 2nd and a prospect, maybe Dipeietro, and Ottea will want a pick or a better player, like Gaudette or some variation of Virtanen and a 2nd round pick.

Done. I don’t know if Melnyk signs off on that. But if they can trade one of the RFAs specifically Tierney somewhere, I think we will be under the floor

Idk how much Boychuk is actually making in real life money, if I remember correctly it could be like 2 mil this year

Done then. I think Dorion would make this. We need another 2021 1st

One of the most important posts I have seen on here. Cap space is only going to get MORE expensive to buy. If Marleau cost TOR a 1st, Backes cost BOS a 1st....Deals like Eriksson will be harder to move. Cap is flat for 2+ years.

The only counter-argument to this is if the cap goes down and teams are given a compliance buyout, but that won't happen before 2020-21.

VAN cheapest option may be buyout
