Hahahahaha. Remember when GR was a halfway decent GM 6 years ago??? How many PIT fans think Murray's getting a 1st still?!?!?! Because 99% of you did 5 days ago.
Remember when 5 days ago 99% of non pens fans said the only way Bjugstad gets traded is if JR attaches high draft picks and a good prospect?!?!?!
If Pens would have buy his contract out, it'd cost 600k for the next 2 seasons. Now Pens will have to pay half of his salary (2M) for just a conditional 7th rd pick (almost nothing). Anyone who thinks Pens won this trade is insane and he would be the worst GM ever.
You are boasting about the trade not beeing a capdump when the return is litteraly NEXT TO NOTHING.
This trade is proof that Pens contracts are a skinky pile of BS and other teams dont want to touch them with a stick.
Ok, they are willing to touch half of it with a 7 inch stick.
Bravo for your conditionnal 7th rounder with a $2M price tag and good luck with the others...
Um. No. Not boasting about anything. I just find it extremely funny how before the trade, people on this site called Bjugstad an injury prone center coming off 2 big surgeries. Now all of a sudden, Bjugstad is a healthy option who can be flipped at the deadline. He was labeled as a cap dump, and the only way he would be traded is high draft picks and prospects. He was traded without giving up any assets, and now people are trying to rag on JR for not getting anything back. Makes no sense

I agree with you for the buyout, but I think neither won the trade ! How about a 4th options
Pit won
Min won
Fair deal
They both did **** 《========

I disagree. Minnesota it's not a contender and they'll pay just 2M/1 season for just a conditional 7th. They have nothing to lose, even if Bjugstad barely play. On the other hand, if Bjugstad finally stay healthy, he can contribute as a bottom 6 center, cause he's not a bad player. In fact, before his injuries he was a good one.
Cause he won back to back cups, guess Lemieux doesn't know what's happening
You're probably is right. Lemieux is too much patient. Patience is something very good, but not that much. As a Pens fan, I'm grateful for everything JR did for us, but this is business and past is the past. It's time to move on...
The fact that Pittsburgh had to essentially eat half his salary to make this trade possible is pretty surprising. Nobody wanted this guy, even for free at his 4.1M cap hit. That's for a decent player who albeit is very injury prone, is still a decent player when he does play. Very surprised.
Don't forget that this guy costs 5.25M despite his cap hit being 4.1M. I think that takes quite a few teams out of the market, like Ottawa and Florida.
