$4M actual dollars for $6M cap hit? I could see Ottawa doing this if they have to get to the floor but I don't think they're in that position. Also, wouldn't need to retain in this situation as the extra $2M cap would only help Ottawa.

Maybe Buffalo takes that deal (with no retention). A way to keep to thisow $70s internal budget while looking like you're spending... Would make a nightmare for next year's resigning of Dahlin/Jokiharju but the organization hasn't shown any ability to plan ahead yet so...possible.

Yeah doubt Ottawa is on Eriksson's trade list, And fat chance of Markstrom and Toffoli taking 1 and 3 years respectively try more like 5 years each or they walk.
