Coach plays the hot goalie in playoffs . Barring injuries even split on games during the regular season this should keep both relatively rested for the playoffs

I believe you’re about $500k short on Strome and Kubalik and about $1M short in Crawford. That aside, both Dach and Boqvist will need contracts in 2 years so it might be best to give Kubalik a 3 year deal to offset that offseason (though idk if this pushes him to UFA status or not).

This also banks on Smith being LTIR. I haven’t heard if he is able to come back or not.

With Suter, Kurashev and Entwistle seemingly close or ready for NHL, Highmore emergence, I think making the bottom 6 cheaper is only way to go as well as keeping the goalies cheaper too. Too many big contracts and no movement in cap.

Suter i believe will make the hawks this year that is why i have him on the third line . I heard CROW was offered 1 x 3.5 that is why i did 2 x 2.5 one extra year for a better cap hit he would be 38 by the end of the second season and probably retirement . Kubalik and STROME are rfa no arbitration rights so Hawks can play hardball with them if necessary . The reason i went with 2 yrs contracts is SHAW and MURPHY contract come off the books by then hawks should know what they have in all the Dman prospects they have making Murphy expendable . Shaw will never make that type of money again if he ever gets back to playing fulltime effective hockey and does not end up on ltir permanently . Zack Smith needs another back surgery and will probably stay on ltir for all or most of this season
