Expose Oshie, Hagelin, Jensen, McElhiney. Trade a 2nd round pick to Seattle to select Oshie, coming off a 30 goal season and from Washington State, but old, over Jensen. Extend Ovechkin at same number, Samsonov at 4x4, Vrana at 6Mx8, Danault at 6Mx6. Trade Eller or Hagelin for nothing next summer and there's enough cap space, even if cap is flat. Bring up a forward prospect or two.

12 points? I know housing is expensive in DC, but I think he'll get by.

I like Gourde. Taking McElhinney for a year, and giving them some stuff that might not be in WSH's plans is not a big price to pay, even if there's still a chance Johansen blows up.

OK so here is the problem with this trade IMHO.

The Habs are only entertaining Danault trades because of the fact he wants assurance that he's playing top 6 minutes at center and with the emergence of Suzuki and KK, Habs can't guarantee that. So I don't see them trading for another top 6C in Kuznetsov. Not to mention that Kuzy although very good is not a Bergevin/Julien type player either. Also adding Domi and Mete for two other players IMO the Habs wouldn't be looking for in Panik and Kempny, I just don't see the Habs entertaining this. Not because those players aren't good but rather they're not what the Habs are looking for from what I can see.

IMO there are only two types of trades for Danault that I would be looking at. Either a 2020 1st rounder+/Prospect+ type package or a 1 vs 1 swap for another player of equal value. Not all this added extra stuff.

Kuznetsov has three seasons between 70 and 90 points. He led the playoffs in points in 2018 and finished 2nd in playoff MVP voting to Ovechkin. His value is not similar to Danault or Domi, although Danault had a terrific year in 2019-20, and Domi had a terrific year in 2018-19. If you count Danault, Domi, and Mete at 6M, 5M, and 1M for a 12M total, MTL is taking on less than 2M of cap hit and balancing roster spots. Kuznetsov's cap hit is 7.8M, Panik's is 2.75, and Kempny's is 2.5. (but comments keep telling me to pay the MTL guys more). I built the MTL side before today's RFA rights trade, so I could see a slight objection to Kempny now, and I'm open to suggestions: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/364202?post_id=1748685

Oh I know who Kuzy is. I also know that player's with that pedigree are never actively shopped by there fan base yet here you are. I would love Kuzy on my team but he screams either buyer beware or only if the price is right type player. IMO the price is not right. (Conversely it isn't bad either if that's what you are thinking, just not "right")

The trade scenarios I mentioned above that suit the Habs IMO would make virtually impossible to make a deal. I think the best way to get a Danault to Wsh deal would be a 3 way or just a separate trade to get other assets the Habs would want.

Thanks. Certainly listening. Would love to see WSH add another top six center for depth in case of injuries. Nothing on the Caps fits MTL's needs?

Yeah a couple for sure but mostly players WSH wouldn't part with or there are better options for the Habs (probably) from other teams that suit their needs "better".
