Description
Just want to prepare for the potential abuse in the comment section.

All trades, in my opinion, seem pretty fair and beneficial for both teams’ roster structure. I can definitely see mid-late round draft picks being added to sway one team, but I feel comfortable with the trades. If you disagree, comment what picks or modifications you’d add for trades to go through.

Leafs adding two top 4-6 RHD dmen isn’t the blockbuster moves that most fans want, but I feel it’s what the leafs will realistically do. The moves do diminish some offensive top 9 depth for the leafs but does add some size/grit and better stability on the blue line.

Signings are pretty flexible but I think the leafs would be smart to sign some veteran FW’s that can add some offense (Spezza), strong PK/defense (Richardson), and win faceoffs (both).

I think Lehtonen will be a top 4 defenceman after reading up more and watching him a bit.

He's dominating the KHL.

I like it. I’d maybe add a 3rd for Murphy and maybe flip Kerfoot/Johnsson on their trades, but looks fair to me.

The Chicago trade is decent, but I don’t think the Hawks trade Murphy unless the return is overwhelming given their circumstances. Johnson would be enough for de Haan but not Murphy.

Not a big fan from Detroit because they’re guys you can pick up on waivers. It would also be hard to guarantee a spot on our roster since we have to see what we have in Svechnikov and Cholowski.

Fair enough. What added prospect or draft pick do you think sparks their interest?

Understandable. The trade is really to any team, doesn’t really change the leafs cap or roster situation. Just thought those players could fetch a 3rd-4th rounder from a young rebuilding team.

2 ahl players for a 3rd is a joke.

Wings counter and you owe us a free 3rd round pick in 2022 for even suggesting this

Only guy I'd trade Sandin for on the Blackhawks is Dach.

Either #15 this year, Robertson or Sandin. That may seem like an overpay from the Leafs perspective, but Toronto’s window of opportunity to win is now and that comes at a cost. Murphy has been Chicago best d-man (next to Keith) for the past 2 seasons and losing him would hurt. Personally, I think Murphy still around Chicago long-term and Stan re-signs him as soon as possible.

The value is trades is always about perspective. Murphy has been a rock for Chicago and he’s the type of d-man that other fan bases undervalue because he doesn’t put up points (much like the guy he was traded for).

I don’t see any way Murphy is traded for a forward. He and Keith right now are the most reliable guys the Hawks have on the back-end. Losing him would hurt a lot, and personally, Johnsson doesn’t even move the needle for me.

This value of this trade is terrible from a Hawks perspective. Leafs basically get their 1st pair RHD (if Muzzin is kept on the left side) and the Hawks get a fringe middle-6 winger (Johnsson was only adequate alongside Matthews and Tavares and pure ass next to everyone else) who is overpaid for what he produces on both the score sheet and on most advanced metrics. The perspective of this is that it's a terrible trade, and even pretending it's close or decent is downright laughable.
