I just can't believe Trouba would quit playing in the NHL for six years and 48M if traded to a Canadian team. And as a Leaf fan, wouldn't want to carry Trouba's undeserving cap hit for 6 seasons...It's more of a nightmare than a dream

How does Trouba stink? The guy is huge and tough as nails. I am sure he had a down year this past year. But historically he has been awesome. And he is still young.

he's had like one good defensive season in the past 4 and his "down" season is actually his career average. He basically had one outlier above average season and that's it. He isnt good.

Again, he has zero choice til next season when his ntc kicks in for 4 years. Til then, yes he could be traded, which would be enticing to teams that cannot attract players. Don't kid yourself, while being 1m overpaid, he's good and gms know it, especially with the right partner. We actually need him, it's our cap hell situation that will force us to shed good cap. It wasn't long ago when you were clamouring about Trouba choosing his home team, yet more spicy hot takes...

Trouba would've to be traded at the draft, As his NMC will kick in when free agency starts. And the odds of that happening are slim to none.

Draft Oct 6, free agency Oct 9. No need to panic, all dates were simply moved and timeframes will obviously be condensed, yet business as usual. There will be tons of movement going on this off-season around the nhl, so slim to none is completely delusional.
