It's an Edmonton first so it's worth less because it's cursed.

Pitt fans, what was with the last trade? It seams like a bad trade just to clear 2 mill, what do they need the cap space for?

There was a report that we wanted to try to have a internal cap at about 70ish Mill, so that might be what that was, im not a fan of the trade at all JR needs to be fired very very soon

I don’t see any team stepping up for Murray at the cost of a first rounder the goalie market is saturated and having to pay him 5 mil plus with the flat cap and him having arbitration rights and with the risk he gets awarded a big number on a one yr deal and doesn’t return to form you just pissed a first rounder down the drain

Edmonton has zero interest in Murray at that cost.

Bingo. Pittsburgh has zero leverage, teams don’t want him until they know his contract and if Pittsburgh signs him they are gonna have to pay to dump his cap. I’ve gotta think teams think they might non gender him and then try to get him in FA.

He’s a huge gamble he’s young and he could find his game again but if it’s a miss and you’ve signed him to a 4yr 5 mil contract in a flat cap that’s suicide plus the first you gave up and either the buyout hit or more picks or prospects to move him out, I don’t see the cap going up for the next 4 yrs any bad deals signed this offseason are going to be magnified 10 times over, the smart GMs are going to wait things out when teams get desperate to move money out some of the returns are going to be shocking low. And players on team friendly deals are going to bring big returns.

I agree 100%. I have a hunch that Murray will end up in Edmonton. But it will be for much less than a first, a third wouldn’t surprise me given what the contract will look like.

Goaltending is the most important position on any team, but it tends to be a area teams don’t want to spend big money and goalies never seem to bring big returns like you’d think they would.

Yeah but the curse was put on him. He's stuck in Edmonton for his entire prime.
