Okay this is a bit much, as a Sens fan I know I don’t like seeing people dump bad players on bad contracts to us (Russell is a fave for Oilers fans, they somehow think he still has value) but objectively, Kerfoot is actually an okay 3C on a decent contract, he’s not a dump. He’s worth a 3rd, just not to Detroit, but that doesn’t mean you counter asking for a 2nd lol

My point was that kerfoot doesn't go to the red wings for a pick because he's useless for us. 9 goals and 19 assists means if they want to get rid of his cap hit and they are dead set on him going to the wings, then the leafs pay for us to take him. If say they traded him to Edmonton or cbj, they would get the 3rd they are looking for. Wings aren't taking cap hits from teams that are desperate to get out of contracts just to do it and we will be getting assets back. This is why I countered the way I did.

I've already denied this trade About 75 times this week and 250 last week, sick of seeing it, leaf fans overrate their players and prospects more then anyone and can't get out of the first round. This guy doesn't know how contracts work, Try more like 5 x 5 for Matt Murray and 7 x 9 for Alex Pietrangelo he's not signing in high taxed Canada for garbage. Murray made $3.75m this past season you can't pay him less. Learn how contracts work.

Exactly, if a leafs fan would have proposed the Pitt trade before it happened they would have got ripped to shreds and told they were delusional yet here we are. I realize that alot of people overvalue players on here but I've seen it from every fan base. I laugh when people on here say that a certain trade wont happen as if they're actually in charge which is why I say I can't see Dubas moving a certain player or making a certain trade but I'm not privy to any inside information or anything other than what everyone else knows.
