what i don't understand, is that Morgan Reilly is the only reason we DON'T have a problem on the left side... trading him would just make it so that we have no depth on the left

The Rangers have what seems like a million options on the right side of their defense, while the leafs have most of their options on the left side. They seem like good trading partners but ignoring the fact that Trouba wouldn't waive his no trade to come to Toronto, he had a down year and his value has gone down significantly. Even with the salary retention and Georgiev, i probably wouldn't make this trade. I might have if Trouba had a year consistent with his prior track record. No way Calgary trades Andersson.

After him, it's Muzzin and a bunch of question marks. Dermott hasn't proven he can play in the top 4, Sandin is a teenager who struggled to crack the lineup at times, Lehtonen is a wildcard 1 year rental out of the KHL

Reilly is a gem and trading him away would be like trading the car engine to fix the tires - it just creates a whole new host of problems
