the main thing to look at here is the Kuemper trade LOL. The other trades are a bunch of trades that heavily favor the oilers and will never be done irl.

Any trade involving Broberg is a dead stop
Nurse will have more value then a second
The concept of trading nurse following next season is solid but only because broberg takes his place
Nurse would be moved for help up front not picks

Yotes have no leverage in a Kuemper trade they need to dump salary and regroup picks
They would jump at the 14th pick this yr straight up for Kuemper

While I agree that taking 14 OA for Kuemper would be a good move, to say that they have no leverage is laughable. They have multiple other pieces that have value that they can move, and an entire offseason to cut payroll. It's not like they've got 20 minutes to dump him.

There’s 29 other teams trying to do the same thing figuring the cap out or cutting, your cutting 10 mil off the cap there’s a difference everyone knows what your trying to do kinda takes your leverage away I agree you have other pieces that have value but none on really cap friendly deals and not many teams can take straight money in on deals they also need to move money out, this offseason is going be crazy and lots of fans are going to be disappointed in the returns they get back on deals. You have the bolts that have to move north of 10 mil so they can sign there young kids. I wouldn’t be surprised if there isn’t 7-8 teams that are cap teams currently that either moving out money or not resigning players to stay 5-10 mil under the cap.

Heck i'll take Nurse in Detroit for a 2nd, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins gets at least 6 years $42 million and Jonas Brodin 6 years $36 million both your signings on them are way too low.

Sure, but this thread just demonstrated how easy it would be to clear just under $5 mil of that $10 mil goal. There are also a number of other teams that will be looking for upgrades between the pipes, especially one as affordable as Kuemper.

I don't disagree that if you were clearing guys like Hjalmarsson or Goligoski, you wouldn't be getting market value back, but Kuemper is an entirely different situation.

Sorry, meant it more as a "This was a fine example of how to do it". But yes, if I'm Arizona, 14 OA for Kuemper would be fine. Perhaps there'd be a prospect, but it definitely shouldn't be Broberg.

Way too much for just 2 years of Kuemper. And really it's only one year as the Oilers have Koshkinen in 2020/21.

I think Edm would just stick with the pick straight up

Yeah, and Arizona might be fine with it. There's definitely going to be a market for him though.

    - I'd rather have Nurse than Brodin
    - The Nurse trade is a joke, he's worth much, much more
    - You've overpaid for Kuemper by at least 2x
    - The Yamamoto contract is too high based on what we know right now
    - The Hyman contract made me puke a little
    - What did you do with Puljujarvi?

Probably some cap would have to go back, Edmonton isn't swimming in cap space.

A better option would be to offer sheet Adin Hill before AZ has a chance to move either Kuemper or Raanta. An OS up to $2.18M would require just a 3rd round pick.
