I'm not completely sure about this, but I'm pretty sure Fleury strugged in front of Vegas defense and u want to put him in net with that defense, ur gonna lose a lot of games. I swear Fleury is the most overrated goalie out there

I wouldn't say most overrated, mainly because I feel like most see that he's on the downward swing, but yeah, I'd give it about 3 weeks into next season before the Fleury buyout/cap dump trades became a thing here.

Vegas had a defense before Martinez & Whitecloud came along?

If you thought Barrie, Marincin etc were awful you should have seen Merrill, Engelland, Miller etc. MAF saved their asses more times than I care to remember.

R u really comparing Vegas' defense and Torontos defense. Besides the fact that they Have Theodore, Schmidt, McNabb and Whitecloud has looked really good. Not to mention the fact that they have one of the best 2 way forwards in the league in Stone.

I don't think Toronto wants this deal and I don't think Vegas wants it either. They don't need wing help and they don't want to add salary, a lose lose.

What would be the point of going from Freddie to Fleury in net? It would be arguable that Fleury was better. He's not cheaper (despite the retention) and he's only signed for one more year. All of that is not worth the enormous risk that he might actually just suck ass and Toronto would be worse off. No thank you.

Andersen is a very good goalie and you guys are dumping him for pennies
Sadly with Jones here there is no way sharks can accept no matter how badly we want him unles someone will
Take Jones off our hands

Did you read what I said? MAF has barely played with Whitecloud in front of him. MAF was putting up great numbers long before the Stone trade.

Theodore was not at this level last year. Their D was awful the first 2 and a half seasons.

Their d was so bad that they have made it to the WCF without him playing well. Here is the big thing Vegas is better than Toronto and Fleury has struggled lately and is obviously regressing due to age. So the idea that he will be expected to perform even better with a defense that is not as good as Vegas' is crazy. If the defense was a problem then they would have traded for a defensemen at the deadline, instead of trading for Lehner and having him steal the starting job and extending him. Fleury IMO now is a great back up, but can't start 50-60 games or be expected to steal wins
