What's the point of the Calgary trade?

You bring in Jankowski, pay him more than Weal and scratch him.

Why not just scratch Weal?

Believe it or not the same players are not scratched for the entire year. Jankowski will be in and out as he play dictates. Theres nothing to lose for either team, a simple change of scenery play

I do believe it, but I don't think Jankowski brings anything the habs need.

If anything, ship weal for a 6th, and re-sign Cousins who has the occasional offensive output and plays physically.
