It's going to be even more of a mess with Ladd still on the Islander's roster, because that's no where near enough incentive for the Kings to take that monstrosity of a contract.

Detroit and LAK both decline

Two of Leddy/cizikas/bailey will need to be traded

I don't see any situation where the Kings take Ladd's contract, even if there's a 1st coming back.

I’d add a 1st to Detroit to take on Boychuk but you’d need that + for Ladd so not sure how’d you do it.

Bellows + 1st

This is the mess im talking about. Obviously Ladd is one of the guys that needs to move but he is virtually un movable. Islanders are in for a world of hurt

Yeah, that’s how bad their contract is. Pitt just retained 50% on Bjugstad down to 2M for one year for future considerations. No one is going to do “GM of the year” any favors.

Lou didn’t screw up anything. I don’t think he deserved GM of the year but the fact that it makes people like you made makes it all worth it

Should’ve gone to Sakic but injuries derailed their playoffs. Such a weird award in my eyes.

Did you see what happened woth toronto regarding Zadorov and Marleau? Man loves term and overpaying, which screws over the team. You cannot convince me either Lee or Pageau are worth what he gave them

I was expecting BriseBoise. Last year they go't dummied by Columbus so he went out and snagged Bogosian, Coleman, Goodrow and Maroon, thus giving him size and making the team considerably better

Lee is overpaid on term. The pageau contract is fair, he’s exactly what the islanders needed.

he's making too much for a third liner imo.

well yes, but he is still third on the depth chart with Barzal and Nelson being around. He had one good season and is going to benefit from it

He actually did not only have one good season, im assuming you’re basing that off points. Pageau is known for carrying bad players and getting mostly defensive zone starts. Despite that, his rate numbers were always solid and he’s more than a 3C.

Boston paid coyle 5.25 mill to be the 3C and STL paid bozak 5 mill.

How is it a problem for the isles when they can trade two of Leddy/bailey/cizikas?

Dont think that's anywhere close to dumping either guy but that's the mess you're talking about. I think they look to dump maybe one of Ladd/Boychuk although the cost to dump them will be extremely high (I'm thinking a 1st+Bellows for 1 one of them), and then maybe look to move guys like Leddy, Bailey, Komarov, Clutterbuck, etc.

yeah which is troublesome because Bailey isnt even bad, Leddy and Komarov have clauses and Clutterbuck just makes a lot. Anyone is hard to move here

Bailey is good - he has 20 points in 20 games during the isles playoff run. He will be replaced with wahlstrom.

Leddy has no clauses and clutterbuck can be bought out.

how ironic is it that a leafs fan is saying the isles cap is a mess. Bud you can't get out of the first round and half your cap goes to three players lmao
