Yeah, the chances that the Rangers make that trade are somewhere between 0 and also 0. Way too much cap being added while also giving up 3 very good young players

I think there are too many pieces in play, think Brodin-Chytil and a pick/prospect to even it out. I find it interesting the rangers are in the market for a 2C yet lots of conversations say Chytil is too important to move or Strome is a good 2C in trade proposals.

What is Chytil’s value? That’s the key piece here.

A lot. He's our only good young center. I'd only trade him for FIala.

Sorry bud, that ain’t happening. Brodin will be very expensive on his next contract while Miller will be ready in less than a year and only $925k for 3 years. Chytil is still really young and developing, plus he has higher potential than JEE in my opinion. I don’t think there’s a trade to be made unless it was something centered around JEE and Georgiev, which you guys wouldn’t do.

That’s fair. Will he slot into that 2C role next year? Winning the lottery really changed your timeline from a rebuild to compete overnight.

Top six center in two years I’d say. He literally turned 21 less than 2 weeks ago and has improved each year. Don’t think we’d move him unless it was for a serious upgrade at center.

We might be able to make the playoffs next year, but we’re at least another year or 2 out because of all our defense prospects that are still developing and need to come up. Our team is still ridiculously young and most guys are entering their first to third year in the league.

Fair enough. You know more about the Rangers than I do. Thanks for your input!

Sure thing dude. Honestly I wouldn’t trade JEE. I’d keep him and hope he and Kaprizov are able to hit it off and become a great duo. Plus you guys still got Boldy coming up in another year or 2. I’d really address the goalie situation and maybe see if you can get a fix at center even if it’s only short term.

While I mostly agree, I didn’t know if Rangers fans wanted to speed up the rebuild due to them winning the lottery. I know that would change my stance on the team if I was running them.

We’re not trading two young integral pieces for a rental. Although I’d love to have Eriksson Ek...

From what i've seen and heard, Strome is the most likely of the Rangers 3 RFAs (Strome, DeAngelo, Buchnevich) to be traded. So Chytil is quite possibly looking at taking the 2C job for them next season.

The Wild needing a top-six center is a tale as old as dirt. I am jealous you have Zibanejad and Chytil. I am super excited for the future of the Rangers.

I should have specified he went with an extension. But the. I remembered he would be too expensive in a couple years do to flat cap. Oh well, the damage has been done.

Maybe it’s just me, but I have serious buyer beware when it comes to Strome. It wasn’t too long ago he was bouncing around the league. It seems like he reaped the benefits of playing with quality wingers this year.

Yeah dude, I’m honestly ecstatic about them. Have you guys ever thought of potentially going after Danault as your 2nd line center so you can move Staal to the 3rd line and have JEE as your number 1. If he keeps progressing he could certainly grow into the role. Toughest part would be the cost to acquire Danault. From what it seems they want a ton for him. Otherwise I’d think Cirelli could be the guy to get.

Oh, I 100% agree. That's why I'm so willing to trade him myself.

I am a believer in giving JEE a larger role, but the organization loves to favor veterans. Certainly moving up JEE would make the Wild more interesting.

I think Danault could be had due to the sudden surplus of centers in MTL and with him being UFA in one year, but I think Cirelli is a pipe dream. He is everything the Wild need, but teams don’t let players of his caliber and age walk. TB will find a way to fit him in by dumping someone else.

Yeah I definitely understand that feeling of the team not trusting youngsters. Happened with the Rangers for quite a while. At least JEE is only 23, so there is certainly still a couple years for him to keep developing. I really think Kaprizov is gonna be huge for you guys. Maybe you make a trade with your first this year and try to get someone who can help now and be a long term part of the team. Maybe take a chance on Nolan Patrick and see how he does when he gets healthy. He shouldn’t cost much to acquire, but could turn out to be solid. (I know the concussion history is really bad)

If not this offseason, maybe next offseason they trade one of the two firsts they have (from PIT) to acquire a center or another piece. No need to rush this offseason because the team isn’t contending next year.
