You’re so far off on the Columbus trade... the only reason a fan would consider this is the brothers could play together, but this trade does nothing to make Columbus better.

Marcus Foligno is one of the better defensive forwards in the league - although so is Anderson. I just think Josh needs a restart. But yeah, I don't always mock trades that I actually value equally, because it turns out no GM has any regard for my opinions anyways. I usually see it as "this could happen, and benefits the team I'm suggesting it for", rather than "this is equal value". Is that fair?

As a Wild fan... I don't like it on our end. I've always been an Anderson apologist, I believe a couple years ago I called him "the best power forward in the league" but his value is at an all time low with the shoulder surgery. As for Foligno, he is our best PK'er and in my opinion he single handedly won us our first play-in game against Vancouver. He brings a ton of intangibles (as you likely know since you have his brother Nick) and may be our next captain but he's probably our best defensive forward and is physical every single night. You need guys like Foligno on your team in the playoffs and I hope we keep him and extend him. All of that said, I can also see why you'd prefer Anderson since he's going to score more than Foligno and he's a right shot.

From the Columbus side, we don’t need more defensive mined players... we need goals. So there’s really no incentive for Columbus to trade the better offensive player, or should the better offensive player.
