Ok lets try this again without LTIR this time LOL

Description
Ok so LTIR is a no go lol. Thought I was genius there for a second. So it appears it has to be the number crunching game at its finest. Meaning it means losing Cirelli and/or Sergachev and/or Cernak by OS or trade where they get less than full value in return OR Tampa makes the hard decision on 5 key but older expendable players. Luxury players on a team that can't afford them.

So its pretty simple:

-Cap casualties have to be Killorn, Coleman, Paquette, Coburn and McElhinney. If you got to pay to shed them, so be it. Outside Coburn the other should be easy to move without it costing TB.
-Replace 5 players above with league minimum contract players. Plenty of hungry UFA's looking for 1 year low cost deals to play in TB i'm sure so no biggie.
-Delay this cap hell situation 1 more year - Seattle will be able to take a decent roster player to help the cap situation to resign the RFA's again and some players NTC/NMC will move from full clause to limited # of teams clause which will make trading them easier. Johnson and Palat. Giving even more cap space next year.

Lines and players used are just quickly added for reference. The cap hit is what is important here.

I think its pretty safe to say, they'll be playing Foote in the minors one more year for this to work or making sure he doesn't reach any of his bonuses at the very least. Not ideal of course but necessary in this scenario.

Maybe I'm wrong, but that seems insultingly low for Sergachev. Maybe Cirelli can be talked into 3.25m though.
I still think my idea of trading for 50% retention on an already low cap hit (like the Kovalchuk trade to Washington) is a good move for Tampa.

Hey thats not a terrible trade for the Bruins I suppose!
Idk if they want another middle 6 winger, they got a lot. But also Coleman plays a bruins brand of hockey

Interesting!

I mean listen, there's no way to know this early on what those guys are thinking and if they are willing to take less or not but for the sake of this AGM, I assumed they all accepted 1 year deals at less than deserve. The promise of getting what they deserve once a couple contracts come off the books.

Considering so many other stud players on their team took less when their time came, I don't think its unreasonable. I mean its only year and its still millions of dollars. Not peanuts.

They are 1 year deals. These guys are still RFA's at the end of the day.

Didn't really go in too deep on realistic values here. The goal was to try and make the team cap compliant more than anything while keeping the core together.

I basically went on the idea that any of the NTC/NMC's making 5M+ weren't willing to waive their clauses. If they do then yes for sure Johnson moving out would make this a lot easier.

I kind of tried to do a "worst case scenario" in regards to not being able to move those guys at all. Killorn only has a limited NTC so it should be much easier so I moved him instead.
