All of these trades are horrible for the Wild, lol. Parise one is somewhat debatable but he was our leading scorer last year and Ladd is a depth player at this point.

unpopular opinion but Parise is really misleading when it comes to scoring. He was 6th in ES scoring on the Wild with averaging one of the highest TOI on the team. Most of his points are coming from the PP.

If the Wild were smart he should be a 4th line PP specialist. His ES defense is worse than what his ES offense brings. There should be no reason we want to match him against other team's top lines. I love his attitude and hustle he brings, but I worry that each year he gets top ice time he will drag down his line more and more. Not his fault, he is just getting old.

I mean PP goals/points are still valuable. I'd rather have him than Ladd and Bellows, that's for sure

I think he moves to that role after this year and he's a great guy to have in the locker room when the young forwards make their way up.

Hidden benefit of the Parise and Suter contracts are that the actual dollars go way down after this year which means we could front load new contracts and hopefully get a little better AAV. There's talk that contracts could be back loaded to try and allow owners the ability to pay players when revenue goes back up.

The Islanders cant do that trade anyway. They dont have the Cap space to add Parise. I dont think as much as people keep talking about it being revisited in the offseason, we will see any form of the trade. Its no longer about value but about space.

Exactly, it just doesn't make sense for either side anymore.
