Description
The Power Play has been the biggest downfall of this team all season and it KILLED them in the playoffs to not have any timely scoring, their PP opportunities were almost all an absolute waste. Provorov has been ok there, but doesn't seem to have that chemistry with G we used to see with Ghost when he was in top form, and I'm in no way expecting Ghost to come back to that player he was. So bring in OEL and put him on the top PP and see if that gets some more offensive production out of the power play. Swap Voracek's cap hit with OEL and then save JVR for Seattle bait next summer.

Niskanen also started to look a little off in the playoffs, looked like the guy WSH thought they were trading away for Radko Gudas lol...so maybe put him in that Braun role this year of the vet who helps the PK and isn't asked to do too much. Friedman I also think they feel is NHL ready, I want to see what he has over Hagg, we know what he is, a 6/7th D that chips the puck off the glass and hits some guys. Lets see if Friedman can be a little more of a puck mover than Hagg and stop having the 3rd pair hemmed in the D zone hemorrhaging scoring chances every shift.

Sanheim was also scaring me to death in the playoffs, he really had some bad moments, just egregious stuff for someone who is supposed to be a Top-4 guy. I'm not saying I've lost all hope in him, I'm just not going to plan my offseason on Sanheim taking the next step to being a solid Top-4 dman that can play 20-25 minutes a night.

This isn't a terrible idea but it has a few flaws. Mainly:

-We need way more help on RD than LD, and this is a huge commitment on the left side with Sanheim being young and cost controlled, and Zamula/York on the way

Actually, yeah that's the only thing but it's a big one. I think the value and basic premise is there, it's just as simple as us not being able to afford paying a LHD like that

What do you think about:

Ari:
JVR
Cam York
2020 1st

PHI:
OEL

Then we flip Ghost for a 2020 and 2021 3rd round pick to a team who is stocked up in early picks, that'll need to reach the cap floor, and could benefit from taking a risk on Ghost hoping he returns to form. Senators look like a likely scenario, if you don't wanna deal him across the way to New Jersey.

I don't believe this is sufficient enough deal for Arizona. Mainly because they want to recoup picks. They won't be interested in two overpaid players. Voracek is a good player, but at his age, and the fact they already have an overpriced player in Kessel, they won't be interested. Ghost wouldn't be a bad risk or anything, but I just don't see them doing it. For cap reasons we'd have to include JVR or Voracek and add picks/prospects to the deal. Obviously if its JVR, we give up better picks/prospects.

As for does it work? I agree that it would be way to much invest in the Left Side. IF we made this deal, we'd have to send Sanheim as part of a deal for a Goal Scorer so we don't have to resign him next year. Using Sanheim, Raffl + a good prospect as a framework for Ehlers is a scenario I wouldn't mind.

Sanheim has been on the right side before, lets not forget that. Could also have Top-4 next year or the year after of Provy-Myers and OEL-Sanheim. Use Hagg-Niskanen as the "shut down" 3rd pair that gets caught in the zone and can't move the puck out and hemorrhages scoring chances against.
