The Hornqvist contract isn't bad. It will be eventually, but it's not right now.

He's a third liner on the Penguins...they're deep at forward.

He averages 45-50pts a year.

So = good contract.

But he's older and aging, its not a good contract and he doesnt bring anything NSH already has

he's a legitimate upgrade on Jarnkrok for Nashville's 2RW and reports of his 'decline' on here are massively overblown by fans that don't watch him play. He'd get paid about the same in free agency, maybe slightly overpaid but nothing crazy

it frees up 6M for Nashville in the fourth year by adding 2M in cap for the next three years

JJ also seems like he'd be at worst a tangential move for their third pair, what happened to that defensive core from a couple years ago ??
